JOINT STRATEGY
A Joint Strategy for Sustainable Outdoor Recreation & Wildfire Resilience
In the summer of 2021, California’s Wildfire & Forest Resilience Task Force tasked CALREC Vision, an effort sponsored by the Mammoth Lakes Trails and Public Access Foundation, to establish, convene, and facilitate a Key Working Group to be co-led by the U.S. Forest Service and the State of California to produce a Joint Strategy for Sustainable Outdoor Recreation in California, which will be included with their delivery of Key Actions 3.13 and 3.14 from California’s Wildfire & Forest Resilience Action Plan.
WHITE PAPER
A White Paper for Sustainable Outdoor Recreation in California
In 2020, an advisory committee of federal, state, and regional participants produced "CALREC Vision: Cross-Jurisdictional Collaboration to Advance Sustainable Outdoor Recreation in California," a white paper which is available for download and review. The CALREC Vision project works to highlight the essential, multi-benefit role that Sustainable Outdoor Recreation plays in California. The Mammoth Lakes Trails and Public Access Foundation initiated and sponsored the CALREC Vision White Paper effort.
